McKinley County is Gonna Get Your Kicks on 66!

Welcome to the 89th Annual New Mexico Counties Conference in McKinley County, Gallup, New Mexico, where the red rocks rise, and cultures converge. 

This year, we’re celebrating in a place where history meets horsepower as we mark the 100th Anniversary of Route 66 right here in the heart of McKinley County. From warm neon lights to trading posts, railroads to red sandstone cliffs, Gallup has long been a crossroads of culture, commerce, and connection. It’s where Native artistry, old Western movies, and Route 66 nostalgia come together under some of the most beautiful skies in the Southwest.

Host County Night will light up downtown at The Commons, where we’ll bring the energy of Route 66 to life with music, food, and celebration beneath the glow of Gallup's historic charm. On Wednesday, join us for NMC Night at the Red Rocks Convention Center, nestled against the crimson cliffs that make this region unforgettable. Expect great food and dancing. 

Shine up that chrome, dust off your boots, and cruise on over to McKinley County, where the road is long, the welcome is warm, and the celebration is a century in the making.
