NMC Legislative Conference
The New Mexico Legislative Conference provides an ideal opportunity to discuss legislative strategies, network with peers, share best practices, and participate in professional development training. Attendees participate in workshops, meetings, and briefings on cutting-edge initiatives affecting county government operations and policy. This is also an ideal opportunity for county members to visit with exhibitors showcasing products and services designed to benefit local governments.
2026 NACo Legislative Conference
The NACo Legislative Conference brings together nearly 2,000 elected and appointed county officials to focus on federal policy issues that matter most to county governments.
Attendees will experience timely, high-impact policy sessions and will interact with executive branch officials, members of Congress and their staff.

2026 IAAO/Geospatial GIS/Valuation Technologies Conference
Attend this conference to discuss the importance of data and the analysis of location information for better decision-making within a jurisdiction, leading to more accurate and efficient property tax valuation. The conference features keynote speakers, training, workshops, breakout sessions, sponsorship opportunities, and an exhibition.
Attendance earns substantial IAAO Continuing Education and GISP Education Points!

The National Association of Counties (NACo) Annual Conference is the premier gathering of elected and appointed officials from the nation’s 3,069 counties, parishes and boroughs.

2026 IAAO Annual Conference
The 2026 Annual Conference is set for Oct. 13-16 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Conference registration will open in the spring, and in mid-December, IAAO will begin accepting submissions for session program topics.
A reminder, for the 2026 Conference, U.S. citizens will need a passport to enter Canada.

IAAO Legal Seminar
The 2025 IAAO Legal Seminar, set for Dec. 11-12 in Phoenix at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown hotel. During the seminar attendees will hear from industry experts on legal topics of interest to members of the assessment and property tax industry.
Assessors’ Affiliate Fall Conference
The 2025 New Mexico Counties Assessors’ Affiliate (NMCAA) Fall Conference will bring together assessors, deputy assessors, and assessment staff from across New Mexico for a multi-day event in Alamogordo this October. This annual conference offers a valuable opportunity for professional development, collaboration, and discussion of best practices and legislative updates relevant to county assessors.
Participants will engage in educational sessions, and peer networking, focusing on critical topics in the assessment world. The event will also feature guest speakers, vendor exhibits, and updates from state agencies, all designed to support the ongoing efforts of New Mexico's Assessors’ Offices.
IAAO Annual Conference & Exhibition
The IAAO Annual Conference is the premier platform to share successes, discover best practices and learn from expert colleagues the latest research in the field of property appraisal and the 2025 Annual Conference will take place Sept. 21-24 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
Each year, educational sessions, networking opportunities and events, and a varied exposition are offered to attendees to provide assessment professionals with the tools needed to succeed. Conference attendees are given the opportunity to interact with peers from across the country as well as around the globe. Approximately 1,700 people took part in the 90th Annual Conference, which took place in 2024 in Denver.
AARP New Mexico Teletown Hall
We’re excited to share that our very own Isaiah F. Romero, Santa Fe County Assessor, and Damian Lara, Bernalillo County Assessor, will be representing the New Mexico Assessors Affiliate as featured speakers in an upcoming AARP New Mexico Teletown Hall focused on property taxes in our counties and across the state. Isaiah and Damian will be sharing their expertise and helping to inform the public on important property tax issues.
